It is rumored that Red founder, Jim Jannard, is in New Zealand meeting with Peter Jackson, testing the camera at Park Road Post.
Jackson is thought to possibly have several Red reservations with his company Weta Digital. The news is said to be from sources in New Zealand that may have connections with Jackson's companies.
More when we hear it!

These pictures are making the rounds on the web... still no confirmation of exactly what's happening in NZ, but I would think it could be big. Maybe Red will be used on some scenes in the movie version of "Halo", now in production.
Edit: We all now know the reason, of course. Peter Jackson "test footage", which ended up being a Camera test / short film entitled, "Crossing the Line" with Red prototypes, shown at NAB...
