RED has been talking about developing better compression ratios for their REDCODE encoding format for the upcoming Scarlet and EPIC Cameras, but today Jim Jannard announced that the advancements of REDCODE 42 (42 Mb/s) will also be coming to RED ONE along with even higher recording resolutions:
"REDCODE 42 will be coming in about a month to the RED ONE. It will be available for 4K 2:1 and 4.5K 2.33:1. No charge. An easy firmware upgrade."
Once again, RED's commitment to it's program and customers is second to none. _________________ Casey Green

Update:
Quad HD RC42 (4KHD) will only work with 16GB CF, RED RAM or RED Drives, not the 8GB CF Card... but a nice option to have, and at no extra charge!
Coming soon... _________________ Casey Green
