ARRI has announced three 3.5K Digital Cinema Cameras (A-EV, A-EV Plus, and A-OV Plus) to be released in sometime 2010 in succession. Although they are not modular in design, like the forthcoming RED Scarlet and EPIC, they should be an improvement over the D-20 and D-21 designs:

"The ARRI digital camera system consists of three extraordinary 35 format cameras that will redefine digital production
From television commercials to anamorphic feature films, the new system will adapt to the demands of any digital production due to its exceptional image performance and the versatility of its workflow and configuration options. Announced at IBC 2009, the first camera model will go on sale in mid-2010, with the others to follow by the end of 2010. The cameras will be in the price range from 50,000 to 130,000 Euros."
