Reel-Streem, known for their Andromeda mod of the DVX100, announced a new product they will be showing at NAB called the Hydra, which will apparently be a mod for the HVX200 allowing a port to output at a much higher quality, based on the internal limits of the camera, but not it's recording system.
The details listed so far on their website are touting:
Uncompressed Full-Bandwidth (4:4:4) RGB RAW Recording
Up to 14-bit linear Color
2K HD Native Resolution
Up to 60fps progressive
Increased Latitude
There isn't too much more info available yet, but it will probably operate similarly to their Andromeda product, which taps into the camera's Raw data path. In combination with their other software product, SculptorHD, which reconstructs the original image by merging and offsetting the three individual color channels, the end result is a higher final resolution uncompressed image.
Details on Andromeda and ScupltorHD are currently available on their website, with more specs on the Hydra system coming most likely during NAB:

Could be a nice lower-cost option for those that would like to get more out of their HVX or start entering the world of 2K. _________________ Casey Green
