Just a word of advice. When doing transfers from REDDRIVES via FireWire, always use the REDDRIVE's power adapter to power the drive.
Technically, the Firewire port also provides power, but several people have reported that they have blown the port or have had intermittant success as the REDDRIVE will sometimes unmount in the middle of a transfer. Apparently, the FW port may not always be able to provide enough power for the demands of the REDDRIVE RAID 0.
If you were running the REDDRIVE without the power adapter and this happens to you, you have a few options. First of all, try remounting the drive with the power adapter. If the port wasn't blown, it may work with proper power.
Also, each REDDRIVE comes with an optional USB port. While slower, this port does not require the power adapter and you may be able to transfer the footage. (You may
The REDDRIVE also has a custom eSATA port (which you use to connect it to the Camera.) If you have an eSata port on your computer (or have an add-on eSata card through the Express Card slot), you can purchase Cool Camera Gear's R2E LEMO to eSATA cable and connect the drive that way.
R2E Lemo to eSATA:

Here is the read me from the REDundead Install File:
"REDundead recovers R3D files from media with damaged filesystems or erased/formatted media. The percentage recovered can vary depending on the condition of the media/filesystem at the time of recovery.
WARNING: Prior to a new project, all sensitive data should be securely erased on media. Failing to do so could result is previously deleted data being recovered from formatted media by REDundead.
Usage:
REDundead <input device or file> <output dir>
or
REDundead <input device> <output dir> <start MB>
To get the device you want to recover from, you can use "diskutil list" in the terminal.
If it lists "disk9" for your device, use "/dev/rdisk9" for REDundead. (note rdisk instead of disk).
Example: REDundead /dev/rdisk9 /Volumes/newdisk _________________ Casey Green
