Apparently the REDundead utility is so good that it has been known to recover clips from projects shot on RED media from months ago.

If you are concerned with not having copies of your footage turn up on the internet from a RED shoot when you rented drives or cards, or if you are a Rental House that does not wish to get in trouble by allowing a client's property to get out, it's a good idea to completely wipe the RED media.

In Mac OSX, Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities will do an erase by writing zeroes over the files on the drive so the data will not be recoverable.

Funny how a data recovery utility prompts the need for a data destruction utility. Smile
