|
|
Today was the birth of the new Mysterium-X sensor, the much anticipated upgrade to the RED ONE's current Mysterium sensor, and also the sensor that will ship in the first SCARLET and EPIC Cameras.
According to Jim Jannard:
"We have successfully tested the 1st S35 Mysterium-X sensors in "Frankie 2". The images look incredible right out of the gate. We will be posting shots of the "Frankie 2" rig and frame grabs soon. Motion a bit later.
Wooooohooooo!"
Below is an image from the 5K sensor.
(Please note this is an 8-bit screen grab! Not a processed file!)
The sensor is being tested in a pseudo Camera body called "Frankie 2", which harkens back to the now famous "Frankie" that created some of the first RED Camera images shown.
More history in the making.

Here is another image from the 5K Mysterium-X sensor.
(Please note this is an 8-bit screen grab with some color grading done... notice the areas with almost no saturation for effect.)
I'm sure full 5K images will be available in the not too distant future...

Another early test of the Mysterium-X sensor:
"Time Tank"... 2 years later.
Shot with the Scarlet 2/3" Prototype, lensed with the new RED PRO 85mm PL.
3k@24fps, T5.6
If you recall, this type of Oakley watch was also used as a test of the original RED Mysterium Sensor back in 2007 (shown below).
