RED has announced a new PL ring influenced by the EPIC lockring, and new Anodized Black Aluminum Rods.
According to RED, the new Lock Rings will most likely be rolled into normal production cameras somewhere around the #3500 mark. They are just giving existing customers the ability if they want to purchase the Ring earlier. Price on the new Lock Ring, which is machined, will be $400. Rod pricing will be inline with their existing Stainless Rods.
The new Lock Rings are "much better on the fingers", plus much more low profile.
Black rods are 3.7 ounces each for the 12" version.
New Rods and New Lock Rings should be in the RED Store as purchase upgrades early next week.
