Ian Bloom has just released a great conforming utility called Crimson:
Crimson Workflow™ is a tool for transforming sequences created in popular Non-Linear Editing Software, such as Final Cut Pro, Avid and Premiere. It allows proxies, and offline material to be replaced by higher quality material, by efficiently managing the use of two software products distributed by the Red Digital Cinema Camera Company, namely Redline and Redcine.
Crimson Workflow™ leverages many tools for troubleshooting less than perfect metadata and file structures giving the user tools to properly reconnect to original material. It also facilitates the use of Redcine after, rather than before editing a project.
For more information and to download, visit www.crimsonworkflow.com
Thanks, Ian, and everyone else that helped bring this to fruition.

I'm trying to generate .DPX files from my .R3D files for the purpose of turning over elements to visual effects, for example. I read that this can be done with Crimsonworkflow. However I am having a lot of trouble downloading this application! I'm working on a MAC 10.6.8 and using Avid from which I can generate EDLs. Can anyone direct me to this Crimson ? Or is there a better way to do it through Redcine-X or some other app?

I get this error message page "Account Suspended" everytime I click on one of these links to crimsonwordflow. I don't mind spending money to buy this application directly from the developer. How can I get a copy of this software? Can you put me in touch with the right person?

Hi Tom,
As far as I know, the Crimson Workflow is now an outdated app that was very useful in the early goings and not so much now (if supported at all). Also, Monkey Extract (http://www.rubbermonkeysoftware.com) was another utility for doing this, but I'm not sure if it is still in use today.
The main reason is because RED released REDCine-X Pro (a free program for OSX or Windows) which allows you to export many file formats including 10bit and 16bit .DPX files. There also is a command line version that it comes with called REDLINE.
You can download the latest beta version and release versions of REDCine-X on RED's support page. (On the download page, remember to click the check box to agree to the terms before downloading):
https://www.red.com/downloads?release=beta
Hope this helps.
