Hi all....
I`ll be shooting my first feature next november, and thinking seriously in getting myself a couple of REDS and maybe be one of the first people to explore this new dimension in filmmaking. But still have some questions and maybe this is the right place to get some answers...
What would be the requierements for 4k editing in a windows based system ?
What kind of storage could I use for a 2 hour finished film ?
What would be an ideal workflow for 4k editing on windows ?
I hope someone can help me to solve this doubts, so I can order my 2 REDS soon !
cheers... |

Hi falconking, welcome to the forum.
As far as the PC workflow goes, the plans right now are to use the software Red supplies, "RedCine", to be able to take the Raw or RedCode Raw images and output them into a format that other existing editors can work with. They have stated that RedCine will work with Mac and Windows.
The announcements of adding support from within FinalCut Pro as well as Scratch are positive developments, but one would hope that the RedCode code would also be implemented in other Editors that run on PCs, such as Adobe Premiere, Avid, etc.
If anyone can comment more on this, please do...
