Here are some notes released online by RED and other users regarding Timecode and Jam Syncing the Camera:

"Go into your settings and set the visible timecode to time of day. As long as you see the little chainlink symbol in the bottom right of the menu bar, you are jamming timecode."

"Please note though, that the timecode only jams on start/stop, so you may need to do a rec check to get it to initiate the jam."

"Remember to set your Timecode preference from 'Edge' to 'Timecode' otherwise your QT refs will carry the Edge code even though you have set Jam Sync."
