This was posted online today by Jim Jannard:
EPIC-Ms are going out the door. We are being very selective who gets these because all features are not enabled.
It is like the old days with the RED ONE... firmware upgrades, etc. We have a sense who can embrace the process... and you need to know what you are signing up for. If your 1st question is "what is not enabled"... trust me, you aren't the right customer for EPIC-M and should wait.
The work being done now with EPIC-Ms is the groundwork for production EPIC-X. This is good for everyone. I hold all the exception cards for deliveries and I play them when I think it is in everyone's best interest. We need hard core professional use and feedback to make this project as good as possible.
Please don't ask about dates for shipping EPIC-X. We have given guidelines (approx. dates) that we think we can meet. But this is a very difficult project with lots of moving parts. Also don't read into this that there is a big delay. There isn't (as of today).
If you are an EPIC-M candidate given these facts, make sure Kelly has your info. _________________ Casey Green
