In keeping with the modular design, how about a REDWEIGHT module that is similar to dumb bells or, even better, the Bow-Flex Select-Tech weight system which would allow for quickly balancing handheld and shoulder-mount configs? It would, of course, look nothing like weight for working out, but could solve the issue of having to use the batteries to balnance the Camera with.

There could be a very simple weight system where mini REDWEIGHTS are added until the Camera is balanced. It also could possibly have a forward/backwards sliding system for fine adjustments.
Just an idea in it's infancy, but maybe has potential?
