Hmmm... I wonder which film he plans on using them on? Could it be Avatar 2? I'd think there's a good chance. Smile

This interesting bit of trivia was posted on IMDb recently for the upcoming "Avatar 2" (2016):

"James Cameron is planning to shoot some footage seven miles underwater in the Challenger Deep, the deepest point of the Mariana Trench and also the deepest location on earth. The pressure at such a depth would be over 8 tons per square inch - far beyond the capabilities of even the most advanced Russian military subs, which can handle only 1,600 pounds per square inch."

It is rumored that some of the 50 RED EPIC cameras purchased by Cameron Pace Group (CPG) are going to be installed in 3D rigs for "Avatar 2". If so, it will be quite historic when EPICs are shooting footage at the deepest point of the Earth's oceans.
