I am hoping to use the red one camera to shoot (spherical not anamorphic lenses) a digital feature that will end up being projected at an aspect ratio of 2.39 (or 2.35 as it is commonly named) and flat and 2k (basically the digital equivalent of shooting super 35 3perf cropped down to 2.39.)

Is this going to be a lot harder or just the same as going for the more common 1.85 flat? Or will going for the flat 2.39 cause headaches in shooting (film gate), post (re-cropping), and for the DMI (digital intermediate squeeze for the projector copy?

I have noticed that many of the lower budget features (winter's bone) stuck with 1.85, whereas the most expensive features go with 2.39 (aka 2.35). I am wondering if this is a cost reason or if it is just aesthetic. Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated!
